ITALY vs FRANCE-1:1(''4:3'')

Farewell to ZidaneThe presence of France in the Final had been predicted by zinadine zidane to qualified them to the final but the biggest mistake he done was when he butthead Materazzi.but i think he must have large many excuses to do that thing.well, whatever happened i will always support him cause he's the best!.but unfortunately italy won and france lose.poor them who had been this far to the final.i did predicted that the france could not win the fifa world cup2006 cause if there's no zizou its quite impossible to win with the penalty.so,2006 winner is italy!they're country must be proud.and for the france, eventhoguh they did'nt win but i am glad atleast they got no.2.

RESULT
1.ITALY
2.FRANCE
3.GERMANY

At the FIFA World Cup™, the greatest, most-coveted prize is, was and always shall be the Trophy itself. However, every edition of the game’s global showpiece has its heroes in the shape of players and teams whose contributions cry out for some sort of recognition.
After all, some of the most indelible images in the tournament’s history have been provided by the likes of Eusebio, Johan Cruyff and 'Toto' Schillaci, none of whom were ever able to lay their hands on a winner’s medal, and many of the teams who thrilled us over the years won little other than the football public's affection.
This was also true at Germany 2006. The array of awards reflected that it was players such as Lukas Podolski and Zinedine Zidane who captured the imagination and that, while Spain and Brazil left without the Trophy, they returned home with plenty of new friends.

AWARDS FROM THE 2006 FIFA WORLD CUP GERMANY™
FIFA Fair Play award - BRAZIL & SPAINThey might have seen their hopes of lifting the Trophy dashed at a premature stage, but Brazil and Spain did not return home empty-handed, with each of their players picking up medals for their record of sportsmanship and good conduct during Germany 2006. This particular award is decided using a points system established by the FIFA Committee for Ethics and Fair Play, and the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) named Carlos Alberto Parreira and Luis Aragones's sides as joint-winners after they picked up a shared total of 886 from the 1,000 available.

adidas Golden Ball - Zinedine ZIDANE (FRA)Arguably the greatest trophy available to an individual footballer went to one of the game’s most spectacular players of the past decade. Fabio Cannavaro and Andrea Pirlo, Silver and Bronze Ball winners respectively, certainly ran him close, but despite that Final red card, Zidane undoubtedly provided some of Germany 2006’s most memorable moments, and the accredited media at the FIFA World Cup Final recognised this in their voting.

adidas Golden Shoe – Miroslav KLOSE (GER)His winning tally might have been the lowest since Chile 1962, but Klose undoubtedly deserved this award having finished two clear of Hernan Crespo, Ronaldo and Thierry Henry with a tally of five goals that saw him move into third place in the list of top German goalscorers at FIFA World Cup finals.

Gillette Best Young Player – Lukas PODOLSKI (GER)Emerging at the head of a 40-strong field of candidates, Lukas Podolski was named the inaugural Gillette Best Young Player by FIFA’s TSG after scoring three goals and contributing boundless energy to Germany’s enthralling FIFA World Cup campaign. “This is a big motivation for myself to keep on improving in my career and to play a even better World Cup in four years' time,” said the 21-year-old after collecting his award.

Lev Yashin Award – Gianluigi BUFFON (ITA)No surprises here. Gianluigi Buffon produced as close to a perfect tournament as can be humanly possible, conceding just twice during Italy’s triumphant campaign, once from a Christian Zaccardo own goal and then from Zidane’s audacious penalty in the Final. The FIFA TSG members were responsible for this decision, and so faultless was Buffon throughout the tournament that it cannot have taken them long to arrive at it.

The Most Entertaining Team presented by Yahoo! - PORTUGALThe winners of this particular award were decided upon by FIFAworldcup.com's users, who declared that Luiz Felipe Scolari's Portugal had set their pulses racing more than any other team.

ITALY vs FRANCE
Todays coming next match, last match, final match!!!

ITALY vs FRANCE
Todays coming next match, last match, final match!!!

ITALY vs FRANCE
Third place - GERMANY vs PORTUGAL 3:1

Bastian SCHWEINSTEIGER (GER), Budweiser Man of the MatchWe have to forget the semi-final defeat against Italy and move on. Life goes on. It's obviously great to score twice for your country. I'd already managed to do that once before, when we played Russia, but when you do it at a World Cup, it's even more special. We've got a young team, and all of us can – and must – improve. The next thing on the agenda is to qualify for the European Championship. If we carry on playing the way we have been, then we should get through. The whole squad is happy with the way things are going. Everything seems to be working well - the coach, the team and in fact the whole environment. We could so easily have made it through to the Final. I hope that we can carry on in the same vein.

Oliver KAHN (GER)I had a chance to show what I'm capable of in this match, and that's all that you can ask for. It'll take weeks for all this to sink in, but I think that this will end up being my last international match. This was the toughest World Cup of my career.

Lukas PODOLSKI (GER)The fans really cheered us on and there was a great atmosphere in the stands and then after the match in the dressing-room. It's a pity that we didn't go all the way, but maybe we'll manage to in four years' time.

Jens LEHMANN (GER)We were carried forward on a wave of emotion. Monday, we'll be on holiday, but you can already sense that feeling of emptiness that eats away at you, simply because there was so much enthusiasm apparent over the past few weeks. The more you play in big matches like these, the more you get a taste for them, so if I manage to stay fit, then maybe I'll carry on playing. It's up to the coaching staff though. In any case, we all hope that Jurgen Klinsmann stays on.

Christoph METZELDER (GER)I think that Jurgen Klinsmann will come to a decision one way or the other, and that what the team thinks and feels about him is very important to him. I don't think that he's reached the end of the road with us, but that's up to him to decide.

Marcell JANSEN (GER)It was a great feeling to get to play in the end, and it's a dream come true to have this bronze medal in my hands.

Jens NOWOTNY (GER)It's a shame for Robert Huth that he couldn't play, but in the end, that's not my concern. I really enjoyed it.

Sebastian KEHL (GER)This was an unbelievable experience for us. We wanted to give something back to the fans and to the whole country. I presume that Jurgen Klinsmann is going to carry on as coach.

Cristiano RONALDO (POR)When all’s said and done, this fourth-place finish means a lot to us and to the whole of Portugal. We’re happy with what we’ve done here and we all deserve credit for the joy that we’ve brought to our people. The only negative thing about this World Cup is that we’re losing two great players, Luis Figo and Pauleta, who both made me feel at home in the team. I have learned a lot from both of them.

Nuno GOMES (POR)Unfortunately fourth place feels a bit hollow and we deserved a different scoreline. But we’re proud of what we’ve done and at the end of the day to finish fourth in a World Cup that has been as competitive as this one is good. The fact that Figo and Pauleta are both saying goodbye represents the end of an era, but we have to respect their decisions and congratulate them on their magnificent careers.

DECO (POR)Overall, we have acquitted ourselves well, although obviously we wanted more. Personally speaking, I found things a bit difficult because of the injury I suffered before the tournament and it was only until a few days before the France game that I was able to train properly. I felt as though I was lacking a bit of match fitness.

Ricardo COSTA (POR)In spite of the defeat, I’m happy with my debut in the World Cup and it was tremendous to share a stage with a great team like Germany. We weren’t happy with the match because they had three shots at goal and scored from all three.

PETIT (POR)I think Germany got the rub of the green because they scored two excellent goals from the three shots that they had. But we deserve credit for our great World Cup campaign and it’s nice to have our success acknowledged by the Portuguese people.

RICARDO (POR)Even though this was the game that neither team wanted to play, it was our Final. The first half was very even, but then Germany were more clinical and scored two great goals. I will always remember those two strikes from Schweinsteiger. But we are leaving here with a lot of pride and I just want to congratulate Oliver Kahn and the rest of the German team.

my story in melaka-i start my journey on tuesday at 8.00 p.m right after i went back from school.I packed my things to bring and my homework too.My whole family went there except for my sis cause she had lots of assigment to do.First,we went to seremban at my auntie's house. We slept there cause my father was quite tired and he can't continue driving. In the morning about 3.00 a.m i woke up an dwatch football that been waited for a long time.I was full of excitement that germany could defeate italy by unfortunately germany loss and won't make it to the final rather than being in the third place i hope.i was so dissopointed, frustrated, emotionally, angry and sad.Right after the match finished,it was subuh time.I had a shower n solat that time. Then,we continue to my grandmother sisters house''mama busu' and''tok tam''.I love them so much cause their my fav 2 old ladies.Soon as i reach there at melaka they cooked my fav kampun diah that is ''asam pedas''.It was tasty and delicious. An dfor the vegetables,i helped my grandmothers pluck it behing the house,we call it ''pasar blakang rumah''While my father went out around melaka for meeting.it take him about 4 hours. Then soon as my father reach at the my my kampung he had his launc and we went straight ahead to sungai besi and then kl.On the way to kl,and a bad event happended.we had and accident at nilai.just at the middle of the highway. this is all because of a rude behaviour of a police.for me,nowadays, all police are stupid and they can't think event better.just all terima rasuah la,selfish la.It all started by one vip car.for me vip person is not that very special untill you have to take someone else risk. There were lots of police on the road giving the vip car to past through.so all the police suddenly wav etheir hand to stop my fathers car but if my father did'nt break the car he might hit those two motorcyle police. So he did an emergency break, cause thinking of thoose two lousy policemen.but there were a my v car behind my fathers car and did bump my father's car.So it all went to a disaster. Then chinese student injured on his chest cause he hit the starring.and my mother nearly bump her face on the mirror.and i was sleeping at thej back.and lucky nobody been sent to the hospital.dah la polis tuh menyusahkan org lepastuh!maen pakai jln jerk tak kesah pown ade accident kat blakang .!this is a pengajaran.police just dont know how to make a proper plan on the highway.they should wave to us firstly not on the last minute.we must take it seriously!syukur kepada tuhan tiada apa pon yg terjadi.alhamdullillah.
news:German dreams of reaching the FIFA World Cup™ Final on home soil died in Dortmund as two goals in the final moments of extra time carried Italy into the Final as 2-0 semi-final winners on Tuesday, 4 July 2006.
With a penalty shoot-out looming, Fabio Grosso broke the deadlock in the 119th minute as he curled a left-footed shot past the despairing dive of Jens Lehmann from the right side of the penalty box. Substitute Alessandro Del Piero made sure of Italy's place in the Final when he beat Lehmann from close range in added time at the end of the extra period.
Italy now advance to their first FIFA World Cup Final since 1994 and their sixth overall. They will face the winners of Wednesday's Portugal-France semi-final in Berlin's Olympiastadion on Sunday, 24 hours after Germany have contested third place with the losers of that match in Stuttgart.

news:Zinedine Zidane will finish his career on the greatest stage of all after his first-half penalty proved enough to take France past Portugal and into the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Final as 1-0 semi-final winners in Munich on Wednesday, 5 July 2006.
Zidane scored two headers to help France beat Brazil in the 1998 Final and eight years later, in his final match before retiring, he has the chance to bow out with a second winner's medal in Sunday's Final against Italy in Berlin.
France's winning goal came when Thierry Henry went to ground under a Ricardo Carvalho challenge after 33 minutes and Zidane struck his spot-kick low to Ricardo's right. They defended their lead comfortably save for one heart-in-mouth moment in the second half when Fabien Barthez spilled Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick and Luis Figo headed the rebound over.
Portugal, semi-final losers here just as they were in 1966, will contest the play-off for third place with Germany in Stuttgart on Saturday.

Final-France vs Italy
Third place-Germany vs Portugal

Monday, July 03, 2006

England vs Portugal.i can't believe that portugal just defeated England by the penalty given: 1:3.Well no match for England after this to continue the world cup.and also Brazil vs France.France defeated Brazil with 0:1,which it was so dissopointing for me that Brazil will not going to be on the final. So now,it's up to France,Portugal,Italy and the one n only germany!i 'am hoping that germnay will win the fifa world cup this year 2006.

Portugal march on to a semi-final date with either Brazil or France after defeating England 3-1 on penalties following a last eight clash that ended goalless in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday, 1 July.
Neither of these sides could find a way through during 120 minutes of entertaining and closely-contested action, with Portugal unable to translate into goals a numerical advantage they had held for almost an hour thanks to Wayne Rooney’s 62nd-minute dismissal.
The match therefore became the second 2006 FIFA World Cup™ quarter-final to be settled on penalty kicks and, just as Jens Lehmann was Germany’s hero yesterday, so Ricardo was Portugal’s today, saving from Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher to leave Cristiano Ronaldo to stroke home the decisive kick.
The match:2' A slip by Ricardo Carvalho gave Rooney had an early sight of goal but his shot was charged down.
7' Portugal failed to clear fully a David Beckham free-kick and Steven Gerrard worked his way into a crossing position on the right side of the Portugal box but overhit his far-post delivery.
9' A bright start revived echoes of these rivals' exciting UEFA EURO 2004 quarter-final. There were chances at both ends as Rooney fired a half-volley at Ricardo from 20 metres and Cristiano Ronaldo latched onto a poor John Terry pass and tested Paul Robinson with a low drive from a similar range.
13' From a Luis Figo free-kick into the box, England were left looking vulnerable as the ball ricocheted off a couple of white shirts but Tiago was unable to react quickly enough. Moments later Maniche let fly but his shot was blocked by a defender.

17' With England enjoying a spell of pressure, Rooney played in Gerrard inside the penalty area but his ball across the six-yard box was met by Miguel's boot.
19' The action switched to the other end where Ronaldo ran at Manchester United team-mate Gary Neville, jinking this way and that before firing a shot high over the bar.
39' Attacking down the inside-left channel, Figo stepped inside Frank Lampard and curled the ball just past the far post.
44’ Petit conceded a free-kick in David Beckham territory – earning a booking for his lunge at Joe Cole that means he will miss the semi-final – but the England captain failed to clear the wall. Lampard then drove a fierce shot at Ricardo as half-time approached.
Beckham limps off, Rooney sent off:52':Beckham struck the ball at Nuno Valente's hand inside the Portugal box but referee Horacio Elizondo waved play on. It was the injured Beckham's last contribution before making way for Aaron Lennon.
53': The first opportunity of the second period fell Lampard’s way but with a clear shooting opportunity from Gerrard’s corner, the Chelsea midfielder shot into the ground and over.
59': England substitute Lennon burst past Nuno Valente and Carvalho, pushing the ball onto Rooney. He kicked thin air and Joe Cole fired the loose ball over the bar.

62': As at EURO 2004, Rooney's quarter-final ended early. Then it was injury, this time a red card for catching Ricardo Carvalho with a careless boot and shoving Cristiano Ronaldo in front of the referee.
68': Portugal finally put England’s goal under some pressure as Maniche’s strike was charged down and Figo blazed the rebound over from a tight angle.
78': After a patient build-up around the England penalty box, Miguel teed up Figo for a strike and the Portugal captain drew a diving save from Robinson. 82': Both goalkeepers were now being tested. Substitute Hugo Viana shot low at Robinson, then Ricardo parried a Lampard free-kick but Lennon's follow-up lacked the pace to trouble him.

90': England's ten men had Portugal's defence creaking and Terry shot just over.
Extra time:99': England threatened as Gerrard drove into the area and crossed towards substitute Peter Crouch but Miguel got there just in front of the striker to head clear. At the other end Simao drew a fingertip save from Robinson.
107': Lennon skipped into the penalty area and went down under Valente’s challenge but Elizondo waved play on. Postiga had the ball in the net moments later but his header was ruled out for offside.
120': With Portugal pushing for a late winner, Miguel pulled the ball back to Maniche but he shot high over the top.

Penalties: Ricardo was the hero for Portugal with saves from Lampard, Gerrard and Carragher before Ronaldo tucked away the winning spot-kick.
In conclusion:A familiar tale for England, who once again exit a major tournament on penalties following a brave display. Portugal lacked the incisiveness to profit from their numerical advantage following Rooney’s red card but, as at EURO 2004, were more clinical in the shoot-out.
